iPad GarageBand Course

Thank you for attending the iPad Garageband Course at Russell Scott Primary – Manchester RTC.

The app (free for education, but with limited instruments available) is fantastic for engaging children during activities where music and/or sounds are utilised.

We looked at the features of Garageband: instruments, Smart-instruments, as well as the sampler and voice recorder. We saw how easy it is to record user interaction in Garageband to create meaningful music or sounds with ease, and also how we could engage our pupils (both secondary and primary) across the curriculum.

We had fun with the silent movie clips below – creating a musical score, or soundtrack for them. We demonstrated how music/sound could create atmosphere and change mood, by altering instrument and pace, rhythm, etc.

Why not have a go and add your own soundtrack to these silent movie clips:

If you have created anything amazing on iPad Garageband, then please feel free to share with us!
